Continuing Onward

by Jason Partin   Apr 16, 2005

Water leaks over the barriers,
beneath my swollen eyes.
It flows as rivers,
with no surprise.

The sudden thump of my heart,
has now become calm,
and I begin to notice the cracks,
where your fingers settled within my palm.

My mind is a distant land,
with misunderstood signs.
If I refuse to explore,
It begins to rewind.

The place you stand,
my eyes no longer can see.
They have become blind of you,
for all eternity.

As this land becomes familiar,
and I understand again,
I'll continue only forward,
until my life comes to end.
