Cover your ears (divorce)

by Easily4Gottn   Apr 17, 2005

She would lie and say that they were alright,
But inside she knew the truth behind it.
She knew that something was just not quite right,
She just was not bold enough to admit.

She’d lie in bed at night covering her ears.
Their fights and screams were too much to ignore.
Her mom and her would flee at night in fear,
Then He’d take his anger out on the door.

They took her out on the front porch one day,
Said “Divorce will not change things between us.”
She hid to try to make it go away,
But she still was forced to leave on Christmas.

No matter how hard you cover your ears,
Things will not change, they can’t just disappear.
