Asking A Girl To Prom (Story)

by LQFootballer67   Apr 19, 2005

Today April 18, 2005, I asked a girl named Julia to prom which is May 7th. We met on the internet during the summer, and talked. We became friends when I was put into her Spanish class as a teacher’s assistant. Throughout the year we have talked every so often. I have known the teacher for three years, so we collaborated and worked together to come up with this plan. For the teacher’s class he has a computer that is hooked up to a projector. He uses that to write sentences for the students, they then have to copy what he types down and translate it into Spanish. The plan was for me to go and type sentences about prom, because we were on that subject. That was already prearranged for us to be talking about prom, that was part of our plan. So then I went and wrote sentences. I wrote them one by one and quite slow because the class had to copy them. These were the sentences I wrote: Mind you EVERYBODY had to copy these down and translate them for points.

1.) There is this girl I think is a very good friend.
2.) She is very responsible and is very intelligent.
3.) Her personality is very creative and beautiful.
4.) Her ambitiousness is contagious.
5.) I would like to teach her to dance even though she isn’t that bad.
6.) I’m going to ask her to prom today.
7.) I would be honored if she would go with me.
8.) So who’s this girl you ask?
9.) She is in this class.
10.) Julia, will you go to prom with me?
11.) You don’t have to answer just yet.
12.) But just know I’ll be awaiting your answer.
13.) I hope you think about it long and hard.
14.) If we go I know we will have lots of fun.

That was it. Then the teacher told his story about asking a girl to prom. He said that this was the first time anybody has done something like this in all of his 18 years teaching. He told me and Julia that weather she says yes or no, that he hopes we remember this for the rest of our lives. Then the classes homework was to respond to what I did and how they felt. He says that is for me and Julia to read tomorrow. Then the bell rang and she told me, “I’ll get back to you” with a huge smile. I said “Okay” with a big smile also.

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT WHAT I DID! I WANT TO HEAR! THANKS

-Peter
