Here We Are

by Daniel   Apr 21, 2005

Here we are,
You and me,
Staring out,
Across the sea,
I look at you,
I see your face,
Feelings are,
All over the place:
Faith aplenty,
Possibilities abound,
Courage emerging,
Mystifying surrounds,
Unseen sights,
Unheard sounds,
Hopes are up,
Failure is down,
What to do,
What to say,
Thought processes
Are astray,
I’ve never been here,
Until today,
I’ve never felt
This good. This alive. This … way.
For I am you
And you are me
It’s clear that we
Were meant to be.
Huddling closer,
So that such,
Your skin is on mine,
And a gentle touch.
The time has come,
No hollow tips,
Face to face,
Lips on lips,
A soft, new taste
A clean, steady sip
Here we are
And here we sit.
The time has come,
To end the kiss,
We pull away,
Full of love, full of bliss.
It’s hard to breathe,
It’s hard to move -
Feelings go deep,
Going right through.
There’s only one thing left,
For me to do,
And that is to say:

“I love you”.
