Stop Living

by Daniel   Apr 10, 2005

When I found out about…
The thing we talked about,
You told me the doctor said
‘There is no doubt’.
I didn’t know how I would cope
Knowing that there was no hope.
And yet I have coped so far –
I will surely,
Definitely,
Miss you Ma.

And even though all these latter times
We disdain,
Those held prior, those experienced,
Still remain.
Those we can reflect on, and relive –
Again and again.
So never mind, in the end you will
Catch your train
We can still spend time together –
All the same.

One thing’s for sure:
I’ve watched your state worsen
I can see it never stops hurting
I’m waiting for the final curtain
It’s hard, knowing the truth – the certain
That one day, unlike in the beginning,
Despite all the effort you are giving,
You will, eventually,

stop living,

and …

start dying.
