Silent Good-Bye

by Ann Stareyes   Apr 23, 2005

My heart is torn into,
And the memories won't go away,
The urge of wanting you,
Lives with me every day.

A love that was so consistent,
And made my world complete,
You simply devastated my life,
And pulled the rug from under my feet.

In every room that I enter,
All I still see is you,
Your memories still live here,
And the love we had too.

Your voice still echos,
And travels through my mind,
Your touch I crave,
And long for all the time.

That day that you left,
You had that look in your eye,
Not wanting to give up our love,
And I felt the tears your heart cried.

As I gazed into your eyes,
I wiped the tear away,
I gave you one last kiss,
Praying you'll be back someday.

Then you slowly turned,
With tears flowing down your cheeks,
My heart just shattered,
But our silent good-bye,
Ended sweet.

Wonderful and heartfelt piece. So honest and raw. It flowed beautifully from start to finish.
