The cutters???

I do self harm
but whats it to you
like you'd care
with the names that you call

'the cutters' you say
like people who self harm
are a disgusting breed
a breed of bacteria

thats not true
you know it too
we are all humans
equals, get it?

we are not ignorant,
we just can't handle
the life that this world
has led us to

please don't take this wrong
but you know it's true
we do these things
because we care

we cut ourselves
because there is no other way
no other way, to numb this pain
listen to me
YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND

it's my business to tell
but not yours to criticize
these are my feelings
my emotions
my memories

don't tell me i am selfish
don't tell me i am stupid
don't tell me i am ignorant
unless i tell you to

you don't know what my life is like
you don't know what your saying
you don't know why i feel this way
so please, don't criticize what you don't know!

*for everyone out there that doesn't understand why i self harm, than please just leave it, i don't want arguments :(, love you all though :) thanks for reading my poem, not a very good one, but it is how i feel :)*

    I'm so glad you wrote this. My little "problem" has caused a lot of breakups and friendships to go wrong. If people would just stop looking down on us. omg!!! ugh okay well good write! 5/5

    I never read cutting poems not because
    I feel the people are less of a person then
    myself. But because it hurts me to read
    them and I feel the pain as I read them.
    You know everybody tries to numb there
    pain in one way or another. It my not show
    on the outside but on the inside it is present.
    The painkiller could be a pill, other drugs,
    alcohol, food, God, and yes even the blade.
    Know this, only hypocrites criticize.

    I read your poem because you wrote about
    what others think and say about cutters with
    true heartfelt emotions. This poem gives the
    reader a greater understanding of the view
    from your side, without the written visual
    act of cutting.
