Every now and then

Every now and then
i try to close my eyes and sleep

pretending your there to hold me,
to wipe away my tears,
to keep me warm and erase all my fears

Every now and then i wonder
about the life im living,
wondering why your not here

you used to be and now your not,
sometimes i think that you forgot

you made a promise that you would always be there for me
but now i don't believe

all the years i've waited went by
and your not here to catch my tears
when i cry

you've left me for so many years

you can't hold me warm and tight
to erase all my fears

now i know you weren't here after all these years.
