If only there was a you and me.

by Shannon Lynne   Apr 26, 2005

If you only knew, the feeling I was hiding,
then you could know truly how I need you.

Then it would be so simple
you and me, no complicated schemes.
There would only be black and white, you and me.

The smile you give when you look at me makes me
tremble,
knowing I could be the only person who would receive
such a great thing.
If only there was you and me.

But in a world that is far from perfect you make it
seem so right.
So if only there was you and me
the world could not take its dreadful toll.
Therefore I would be basking in a world of perfect.
If only there was you and me.

No matter how bad of a day, it all melts away,
the moment your voice invades the darkness around.
Like a light into the darkness my path is shown
leading nowhere but to you.
If only there was you and me.

Like the tranquility after a storm
your sight restores all beauty and only perfect
remains.
If only there was you and me.
