All I Want

by Flame   Apr 26, 2005

So you hold the keys?
You hold the secrets to me?
You come when I sleep
Wrapped in a purple veil
You are all I want
But you don't exist
I hear you sing that song every night
The maiden who sits alone
In my room, in my mind
Who I long to touch
But can never reach
All you wear is a veil
Your olive skin is beautiful
Your body glistens as if you have just risen from the sea
There is no part of you that is imperfect
Every curve is like a brushstroke
Done by a careful artist
Why are you here?
Why with me?
I could never measure up to you
The pinacle of all the wonderous things in this world
But every night
When I lay my head down
You return
Always true to me
And sometimes you don't sing alone
For my voice entwines with yours
And reaches up to stroke the heavens
You don't sit alone all the time
For I sit with you
I hold you
And you hold me
And I never want to wake.
