Shattered hope,
lost dreams,
in the darkness,
a child screams.

words fly,
fists shout,
a darkened light,
no way out.

echoing silence,
the whispered names,
threats of sadness,
tears of blame.

a baby cries,
a mother sleeps,
another loss,
no one weeps.
