Fake Thanks

by Erica Brown©   Apr 27, 2005

I'm so grateful,
For these flooded eyes.
A dying heart,
This burning soul.
This lovely start.
To my future,
My children's futures.
I listened to your dreams,
But you wouldn't go.
You waited.
Until I was buried.
Deep into my sorrow.
I am living, breathing,
But those are just
Simple verbs.
No passion, no more
Anything.
Just a powerful,
Memory of you.
So thank you.
For being so selfish,
For giving up two lives.
For never caring back.
Thank you.

I like the way you have written this with short sharp sentences. It works well with the message you are trying to get across! xxx
