Independence

by Mel Roy   Sep 11, 2003

Can't eat, can't sleep, can't think at all
I was set up in life for a great big fall.

All through my childhood I was told
About the damsel in distress with her hero to hold.

I was led to believe this would happen to me
But life isn't like that, now I see.

Fairy tales are full of sh!t,
Life isn't like that, not one bit.

Heros are few and far between
Most men are just selfish and mean.

They only care about their own pleasure
And their egos need to be taken down a measure.

Bad experiences - yes, I've had a few
My prioritys in life I needed to review.

I no longer need a hero to hold
I'm now independant, or so I'm told.
