A Breath Of Dawn

A breath of dawn outlasts us…of our wise men fathering Reform, haste anon Erasthmus!
Take me…alas thy rapture orphans me, whilst my brothers bedraggle my sanctum-aid me now and damn me late upon my based direction.
See me knelt before your virtue, reaching mine only hope for thy stem to become of my voice.
For thou credence but not my modern religion, by faith alone I beckon to allow a new veracity.

Without thee I’m absent, aggrieved in my piety and secular retentions.
Clouded against such ritual as my daily life rules.
Cursing in after thought whilst I doubt inside my cell.
Sharing fears among my nightly vows…
Trying whilst I gouge my last farewell, to an abstinent curiosity and bloodied conviction.

By the growth of enlightened education and a clearer understanding of the philosophy of Christ, I am free of my dissolution.
Anew of my pre-destiny, thank ye beloved Erasthmus.
