Lovely Girl

by JaeC   Apr 30, 2005

Sitting in the park
its cold and dark outside
she screams and cries
rain drops silently
the thunder roars
climb upon the monkey bars
kneeling on them she remembers
taken back to last summer
when she smiled and laughed
her best friend was always there
he kissed her lips, held her tight
whispered caring words into her ear
the lightning cracks
and she snaps back
the cold metal she grips reminds
her its all gone this is how it is
shes all alone and cold
no on there to hold her
no one to make her warm
her friends are gone
they forgot she is there
she starts to feel self pity
but then the words form long ago
the words a stranger said
repeat inside her mind and heart
"don't cry, don't pity
It does no good for you"
the rain pours upon her body
she lays there listening to the voices
voices of past promises and lies
words of wisdom she once ignored
hours later soaking wet
tired and emotionally numb
the girl walks past the places
where she once used to be
rain is pouring
the wind is mellow
the sky is dark and gray
her soul and heart
still sit out in the rain
she left herself and memories
in the park on the cold bars
left them there alone and cold
thats where they will always stay
no one ever saw their friend again
She disappeared that rainy day
