Sunrise, Sunset

by Mj   Apr 30, 2005

The whipped cream sky i see above me
is dancing in my eyes
I'm breaking down, falling to pieces
as i watch the sun slowly rise.
I'm going now beyond that darkness
that keeps shadowing my heart
instead of sitting being lonely
I'll pour myself into art.
i pick up the brush dip into my soul
and watch the bristles move
across the pages of my heart
erasing all the gloom.
the girl that's hid beyond the blackness
is showing her radiance
as the reflection of the sun intensifying
removes her life's hazy dust
illuminated now, her soul is alive
more than ever before
her happiness seems incessant
a gift from his true love.
the day is fading
and the sun disappears
as it falls beneath the horizon
the sea takes it's every pigment
and the stars they gradually brighten
sprinkles of light in the midst of black
is what shows me all your love.
as we lie below the night sky
and your eyes, reflecting,
captivate brightness
as if again it was only sunrise

That was a very beautiful poem. I really like it and can identify with it. I paint too. I love how you wrote "the whipped cream sky" I thought it was really interesting, I never heard it described in that way before. Keep writing and take care.
