Sunset

by Lyudmila   May 3, 2005

We can persuade the sun
not to set tonight
Make it linger around
at its most beautiful height
But we both understand
that when beauty is done
It'll be twice as long
until we next see the sun

The lights shine dimly
leave halos in my eye
The smoky grey clouds
completely blacken the sky
This is one sight
never again will I see
Because beauty this priceless
is never for free
