A Cracker Labeled "Love"

by [Neon/] ©   May 6, 2005

A quiet little girl,
calm and shy,
sat alone;
comforted by her thoughts of nothing.
The boys her age turn their backs,
And the older men frighten her.
Her father beats her
and tells her she is worthless.
She starves for attention,
this hungry little girl.
Give her a cracker and label it "love"...
she'll gorge herself until the crumbs are gone.
