Rescuer

by katie   May 7, 2005

Deep quiet as the sun sets
Sit and stare into nothing
Reliving the years I've passed
Trying to figure it out
Where were you when I fell?
And had to pick myself up
Where were you when they lied
And said that I was wrong?
Did you forget about that night
When I nearly ended it there?
Did you have to run out quick
And leave me so alone?
Was there someone more important
That needed your attention more?
Is that why my cheeks stayed wet
Even as i slept?
Where were you when I tried
To call but got your voice mail?
Why didn't you hold me close
When the storm blew me over?
Pondering and noticing
With every accusation
That were was a hidden message
In each of my downfalls
When I fall it was into your arms
and you pulled me up straight
When they lied it was your truth
When I thought the was night
You ran to get my killer
Stopping it before it happened
You prevented my tragedy
And when my cheeks were wet
It was your blood I cried
Red velvet tears healed me
Letting me fall into your love
At long last I know
That you've always been here
To clam and silence my restlessness
My protector, my warrior, my rescuer
