Promise of an Angel

by Amber   May 9, 2005

He lay in the hospital bed when she came in
She was young in the face and in the heart
She sat next to the bed and kissed his cheek
Then started to cry because he looked so week
She gave him a hug and said,” I don’t want you to leave me."
He softly replied,” I will always be here you will see."
She said a prayer and hoped for the best
As he laid his head down to rest
Then little girl felt her heart slowly sinking
She left the room with her head bowed
But tried to smile. She knew he lived his life strong and proud
She stood in black and lace
People knew she was hurt it was on her face
They lowered the Coffin down
She turned to look around
Everybody was confused by her sheepish grin
That little girl felt and angle and knew it was him
There was no way of explaining but she had found
That his promise was kept that he would always be around
