Open Their Eyes

by Slick1   May 10, 2005

What's the reason of so many people
Blind to our society,
Afraid to face reality,
They live their lives without variety.

Are they scared to see the truth,
Or do they simply refuse to,
Do they choose to be blind,
Or is it something they're used to?

Their eyes must be opened,
Just like mine are,
Unless their eyes are opened,
This world won't get any finer.

*This poem is dedicated to the youth who live in a dream world and fail to recognize the truth, the harsh reality of life, the news behind the news.
Open your eyes, don't remain blind.

I couldnt agree with you more. We are a part of a generation who find it "cool" to remain ignorant to many issues if it hasnt been broadcasted to death on MTV. It's sad but that's how things are..."ignorance is bliss." Nice poem.
