A story about katie

by Graham   May 10, 2005

A story about Katie, a girl I knew very well
Happy and smiley until her life turned to hell
Writing for hours, until her eyes turned so red
Wishing all night that tomorrow she would be dead

She was called names every day, though she laughed it away
She cried every night, tears for every word they say
As she read a poem, of someone exactly like her
Tears dripped from her eyes, for all the hurt

Yelling and screaming they had so many different names
Turned Katie crazy, she felt so ashamed
Couldn’t look in a mirror, feared her reflection
Too afraid to love, because of all the rejection

As the cuts kept appearing on her arms in the morning
She kept making herself beautiful, cuts are adorning
As she decided not to eat, for as long as she could
Even though everyone told her she should

She wanted to be beautiful like all the other girls
As beautiful as all the other people in the world
She wanted to be perfect so she could smile
Not find her image so ugly and vile

She made a friend, so perfect in every way
She gave Katie a reason to try and stay
Katie fell in love with that friend
Promised she would be there until the end

Katie’s dad hit her, and she slit her wrists for release
Not knowing another way to finally be free
She knew this poem sounded the same as another
As she read it, she thought of the dying other

Katie was broken from the day she was born
For years a true smile she has barely worn
She cannot take the pain, I cant see her this way
She will be here for one more hour, only one more day

*I know this is really similar to another, just I had to get it out of my system, thanks*
