I Can't Believe

by Rachael   May 11, 2005

I can't believe you played me
You messed with my head,
I can't believe I trusted you
And everything you said.

I can't believe you used me
Just to have your way,
I can't believe I thought about you
Every single day.

I can't believe you just don't care
You never even tried,
I can't believe that in the night
Head in my hands, I cried.

I can't believe you told her
We were nothing from the start
I can't believe the pain you caused
And inflicted on my heart.

I can't believe you stooped that low
And do not feel regret,
I can't believe you said those words
I never will forget.

I can't believe I fell for it
I'm cold and bitter inside,
I can't believe I just fell again
With reality I'll soon collide.

I can't believe I want to be friends
Just to have you around,
I can't believe I'd do it again
I just keep hanging on.

I can't believe how lost I feel
I don't know what to do,
I can't believe after what you did
I really don't hate you.

Believe it... Men are seductive. If you don't believe me, well, that's another story. They will say anything and everything to get in your pants, then dump you like a steaming coal. Keep your eye wary for true love. Most often times it takes not only the use of your heart, but with the use of your brains also.

Poem: I seem to have created my own little moral above, but the fact remains. Your poem format is not something I disagree, but the words you used I do. Hypicritical of me to say the least, but as I have grown in writing, I've noticed if you step out of the ordinary and bedazzle your readers you'll find much greater pride in your work than if you "play it safe" with something anyone could right.
