That day

by Calley   May 12, 2005

I will always remember that day.
You know that day.
That day.
That day that life changed forever.

We waved mum and dad off,
like we normally would,
they thought that, that day
was going to be like any other.

however that day wasn't.
10:40 flight,
bye mum, bye dad
see you in a few days.

But that day changed.
I spoke to mum on the phone.
she was crying
asking why.

The car fell silent,
just like the house
earlier
on that day.

Uncle Alan came up
as dad couldn't get there
for that day.

That day was weird
why, how
people would ask
i couldn't answer
why or how.

There was no answer,
not one that anybody
wanted to hear.

From that day forward,
I never answered
why or how.
I would say something like
I didn't know
like you care
its none of your business.

That day,
I scared everyone.
Would i live
or would i die?

It all came out the blue,
That day
nobody expected it,
not even me.

I'm still in denial
of that day.
That day is the past.
That day is that day.

* that day is the day that i took an overdose*

Wow, this poems really pwerful. It was really good. I would have liked it to be more in depth though. Because I am left wondering why did you do it? What would be even better would be if you did a Pt 2:Before hand or something. Just a suggestion.
    Much Love,
