Overseas

by Sinister Soire   May 12, 2005

I have been living over seas
For the last two years of my life
And I have been around the world
At still so young an age

What is it that sets us apart,
From the people still back home?
Why does living here
Unlock the world’s cage?

I never thought I would be here
While living in the states
It never occurred to me
That this would be my stage

I look around at all the people
And they are in this boat
They know what it is like
At this international school

Some have even been here longer
And have been living life abroad
Some have never seen their homes
But their friendship is a jewel

To underestimate this chance
Of schooling abroad
Would take more than sheer ignorance
It would take the biggest fool

All us here have a chance
To really change our lives
We have a chance to walk away
With a million friends and stories
