Waiting For The Sun To Dawn

by Ben   May 13, 2005

I drink from the poison cup,
I cant stand it,
But u haven’t had enough,
I lay where I sit.

Time passes me by,
Waiting for the sun to dawn,
To see the same yellow glow,
And then to feel torn.

The morning comes steady
So now the dread of tomorrow
Presses itself against me
The thought of the next days sorrow
Shines itself upon me

You said you’d be back someday
But you were never sure when
You’ve been gone so long
It seems you will never return

Waiting for each morning
To see if you’ve pushed through the old gate
The damage is done
Still waiting for you to come

Another sun dawns
My patience is tested
My faith lies empty
I lie unrested

I’m still waiting for the sun to dawn
Tyring not to ignore
Still waiting to believe
Too many dawns have passed

Night fills my dreams with horror
Horror of another dawn
I can never sleep
Waiting for the morn
waiting for the sun to dawn
