Angel

by Chelsi   May 14, 2005

I have a photograph of a teenage girl,
smiling and dressed like an angel.
I can hear her giggling like a little girl in my head, like she always did.
Her smile brightened the sky on a cloudy day.
It seems as if she knew she would be a real angel soon.
Her wings are shining and sparkling as they spread upon her back
with her little tutu spreading out over her jeans
and away from her body.
She is standing in a doorway
turned just enough to see her friendly face
over her shoulder.
Her face is soft, gentle, and caring.
Her hair is pulled back in a headband.
She was an angel on Halloween night
and now she is an angel in heaven.

I did this poem for my English class, and it was about my brother's girlfriend that died in a car accident and my brother survived.
