Machine of Societal Decay

by John123   May 16, 2005

In an age of peace and war,
Dove and dog,
Wait at the door.

Prejudice and morality walk hand-in-hand.
When do you compromise,
And when do you stand?

Bureaucracys' red tape tied the hands that feed.
Why are we not permitted,
To help those in need?

The idea of mortality will disappear.
Should we be glad,
Or cower in fear?

Routine and rules have become mental chains.
With no freedom,
Only solitude remains.

Black and white,
Mixing to gray.
Losing "the fight",
Will be the price we pay.

Lost in my dream,
Of what reality should be.
It begins to seem,
That only I can see.

All for one and one for self.
Priorities jumbled.
What is wealth?

Justice raped; breeds corruption.
Lies they feed,
For our consumption.

Technology created an emotional wall.
Connecting humanity,
But distancing all.

To leave behind the handicapped and weak,
Makes our outlook bad,
and our future bleak.

Science and religion walk a thin line.
Should you go on fact,
Or put faith in a "sign"?

Yin and Yang,
Are now gray,
Evil reigns,
We had to pay.

Lost in my dream,
Of what this world should be.
Why couldn't have humanity,
Listened to me?
