My way

by Jacob M Parnell   May 17, 2005

If I had it my way.
I would not have become who I am today.
I would have hurt so many people.
And not let so many feelings take me away.

But nothing ever goes the way you want it to.
She left me.
Tore my hear away.
Took my soul, My Independence, tore me every which way.

My father,
Well there is not very much to say.
He was never there.
My entire child hood, was his betray.

My mother,
Cant keep her Sh*t together.
Men in her life have been, One after another.
My heart has become lighter, than your average feather.

And me,
Well i am the worst of all.
Even if some disagree.
If only they would recall.

\"Where is Jake\"
\"In his Room\"
\"Doing What?\"
\"Hell if I know\"

Well maybe only I know.
All it would take is one look.
To notice your son, Quid Pro Quo*
To all the happiness that you took.

Its not that im a horrible person.
Only God truly can see me.
But conditions in my life continue to worsen.
Im dead to a certain degree.

Depression is just natural for a teen.
So it may seem.
I have seen many happy, and many sad.
I am sure you all agree, life drives one mad.

But if I had it my way.
You know what everyone would see?
The guy that isnt with such dismay.
The person I want, Is the real me.
