That Girl I Once Knew

There in the corner
Sat on a chair
She looks like she's listening
But her mind's elsewhere.

She used to be happy
And laugh through the rain
And though the smile's still there
It's hollow and faint.

When did you leave?
Where did you go?
Because since you left
I've been so alone.

Looking into the mirror
And staring back's you.
Whatever happened
To that girl I once knew?
