It Was Empty

by Kendall   May 18, 2005

Yesterday I received an unmarked box,
Nothing was in it.
The box itself was simple, just a plain box,
It was tightly bound with duct tape
As if that person didn’t want me to open it.
The tape was just ordinary tape,
There was nothing strange about it,
But it was taped very precise and peculiar,
So why I wonder was it empty?
I opened the box furiously
Because it was a present to me.
I ripped the tape open and bent the box
Not caring about that persons intricate work,
I just wanted to know what was inside,
But it was empty.
