I went to visit a friend today
That I haven't seen in awhile
Thought things were a little awkward
I tried to a fake a smile.
I walked up and sat down beside him
And started telling him things
I talked about the day he left me
And all the misery that day brings.
I told him that I miss him
More and more each day
And that life hasn't been the same
Since he went away.
As I sat there and spoke to him
Tears streamed down my face
So I told this friend of mine
"I shouldn't have come to this place."
But I wouldn't let a broken heart
Get the best of me
So I tried to get a hold of myself
And then I got down on my knees.
I said, "I miss your smile,
And your giant heart,
And I can't stand the fact,
That we are apart.
I'd give up my life,
For one more day with you.
Because the fact that we are apart
Is tearing me in two.
You said you'd always be here for me
But where are you now?
I guess I'll just have to be strong,
And forget about you somehow"
I turned away from my friend
KNowing that was not the way to behave
Then I said my last goodbyes,
And placed 3 roses on his grave.
