Silent Screams

by Ms Joanna Dark   May 19, 2005

Listen closely,
I let out a silent scream.
My mind is losing,
The battle of which I dream.

A battle of minds,
Between me, myself, and I.
No matter who will lose,
It's me that will die.

I wish the war would stop,
At least let me catch my breath.
Before my soul escapes,
And I slowly give in to death.

I cut to gain control,
But I still lose in the end.
The damage the battle has done,
Is not something time can mend.

It will leave horrible scars,
All across my fragile heart.
It doesn't matter who wins,
I'll be done and torn apart.

I need you to listen,
To the screams no one can hear.
The battle doesn't scare me,
Dying alone is what I fear.
