Black Tears

by Ms Joanna Dark   May 19, 2005

Her black tears,
Fall to the ground.
Because her father,
Is nowhere to be found.

He left long ago,
Before she was born.
Her life is incomplete,
And her heart is torn.

She scars her arms,
To deal with the pain.
Death doesn't matter,
She has nothing to gain.

As the wind blows,
Through her raven black hair,
She dreams of a time,
When he will be there.

"I miss you dad,"
She whispers in her head,
But he'll never know,
He might as well be dead.

Her black tears,
Continue to fall,
To see him just once,
She would give it all.

To recieve his hug,
Or maybe a letter,
Would make her happy,
Things would be better.

Many letters she started,
Written to a father unknown.
One that doesn't care,
About his daughter all alone.

He's obsessed with his drugs,
Always found drinking a beer.
He has not a care to the world,
As his life starts to disappear.

She cries alone at night,
Her black tears stain the floor.
She quickly wipes them away,
Promising not to care anymore.

She knows the promise is a lie,
Her black tears will continue to flow.
Heart broken forever in time,
From the father she'll never know.
