Soul Tapping

by Eden   May 20, 2005

Do you hear the rapping at your heart?
It is me…I gave you quite a start.
Not expecting me to come?
Like the never-ending sun…
Do you hear the drumming there
Within your warm heart with such care
Nails start digging in your flesh
My soul with yours will mesh.
Born from the light
I am filled with spite
Grew into darkness in times of old
Back when ominous thunder rolled.
Nurtured by immortality’s abyss
Now all there is to think of is this:
When will you come to accept me within
And let me turn your steadiness to spin?
When will you let me into your life?
Causing pain and agony; the blade of this knife…
Wrenching all that you hold dear
With my obsidian spear.
When will you open thine cursed eyes?
When will you eventually despise
All that comes down the yellow-brick road
To Zion and onward past death’s code?
Don’t you hear my tapping now?
Come, with me make a sacred vow.
I promise to uphold my end of the bargain
Dispose of all this worthless Light’s jargon.
I promise things will be easier if
You become loose and not so blithely stiff.
Come, I beckon you, dine with me
Be all that you can be.
More will come and some will go
You’ll know all there is to know.
I promise to care for your shattered skin
If only you’ll let me within.

Hear the knocking at your window?
I can see into your soul’s meadow.
Peeking in to see your spoils
I see all your spices and oils.
Let me in to dine on your soul
Change your ludicrous dawning goal
To reach the end of this yellow road
And reach the destiny beyond death’s code.
I am gone but not far away
With your soul, I long to stay.
Please, let me come in this night
And shelter you from all your fright.
Bid me come and dwell in your mind
And disable all that makes you blind.
I am yours for to ask and to hold
My blessings I have already told…
So come, make promises tonight
And come makes things with you so right.
