I Am, That I Am

by Eden   May 20, 2005

This is not my life.
This is not my soul.
This is not my mind.
I am no longer in control of my body.
I am no longer attached to your reality.
I am no longer your pretty pet to hit.
See my growing dragon like wings?
See my changing chains of silver?
See how the moon changes who I am on the inside as well as without.

This is not my action.
This is not my existence.
This is not my thought.
I am no longer buying the lies of man.
I am no longer cringing in the tyranny of humanity.
I am no longer waking up confused as to who is in my room watching me silently.
See my growing sinews?
See my sharpened teeth?
See who I have become?

This is not who I was.
This is not who you planned me to be.
This is not what you wanted for me.
I am no longer your stupid puppet.
I am no longer a bet that you can credit.
I am no longer a part of your life at all.
See my growing heart of darkness?
See how it is stable with fortitude?
See how I will never again listen to you?

This is who I am.
This is who you are not.
This is who I am…not you.
I am now a way to fight.
I am now a weapon to use for Night.
I am now the reason my kind lives.
See how I break your bones slowly?
See how I tear down walls with only a glance?
See how the Garden of Eden comes into this realm from the Land of the Dead once more?
I am the cause of this.

The darker side of your poetic talent...impressive how you can write such sweet, light poetry...and then something like this which is oppressive. All of it very, very skilfull. I'd say keep up the good work, but you will anyway ;o)
