The Decision I Didn't Make

by chelle   May 21, 2005

You said, "If you need a ride, just give us a call."
But I didn't have a drink, not one at all.
I asked for a Sprite. That's all I had.
Who knew this night would turn out so bad?
Now I'm lying on the ground afraid of what I did wrong.
I can hear so many voices fading in the background.
The driver was drunk and passed out while driving the car.
And I was the one paying the price. It's not fair, not fair at all.
I'm lying here almost dead, because of a stupid mistake.
One mistake that i didn't even make.
I'm paying the price, for a drunk driver.
What was going through his mind, I can't decipher.
I try to talk as they take me away.
But I paid the price someone else made.

*To anyone who reads this: Please, please, please THINK before you drink and drive.*
