Oh how I waited in the fiery night

by Jenn   May 22, 2005

Oh how I waited in the fiery night
crying for something that never would come
searching for my savior, my only light
screaming my heart out and turning it numb
but as the shadows closed over the moon
the wind's soft whistling grew stronger yet
and I knew the end would have to come soon
and I prayed that he and death hadn't met
first the world turned black and then all turned white
I clenched my stomach, where the blood ran quick
and then I saw him, there deep in the fight
lying on the ground, so pale and sick
--and I knew everything would be okay
--we'd be in heaven together this way
