Your Life

by Emma Carnage   May 23, 2005

Nothing ever turns out like you hope it will
There’s always that little twist
That ruins your perfect life
There’s always that one lost love
You wish you could have back
There’s always that one sentence
You wish you could take back
There’s always that simple mistake
You can never live down

Your life will never be what you want it to be
You’ll always have that hidden secret
That’s eating you up inside
You’ll always want what you don’t have
And you’ll never get it all
You’ll always feel the need to lie
Even to those you love
You’ll always think what could have happened
If you had made just one decision differently

You’ll never quite make it to your full potential
There’s always something you could do better
But will never find the strength to
There’s always that one weakness of yours
That you will never quite get over
There’s always that one little fear in the back of your head
That, no matter how insensible it is, you can’t get past
There’s always one person out there
Who will always be better than you

Your life will never be complete
You’ll always wish you could be something more
But never make it to that point
You’ll always hope for that one special someone
And never be good enough to get them
You’ll always want something more in life
But never be able to get what you want
You’ll always end up cold and alone
And you’ll die all by yourself
