I'm Like A Puzzle

I’m like a puzzle with lost pieces
So incompletely put together
Almost perfect to their eyes
Yet inside, broken forever

The pieces to my edges
Are solidly all there
But it’s the inside that I’m missing
And a heart with which to care

The days I live get harder
And I fix myself everyday
But with all the struggles I’ve endured
More and more pieces seem to stray

So then at night I cry
A tear for each piece I’ve lost
My tears soak the pieces I have
And, again, I pay a cost

Now I’m incomplete, drenched in pain
And drowning in more sorrow
So I try to sleep and begin to think
It’ll all just happen again tomorrow
