A World Only Dreamt

by ntv650   May 25, 2005

Just for a moment, infinite darkness was gone
And so the tale of a story never to be told unfolds.

Buildings will rise and cities fall,
Tides rise from oceans deep below.
Clouds will settle, meet mountains high.
Wind'll conquer land between the sea’s,
Worlds will be born and collapse beneath,
And Summer'll still die after spring has been.

Night follows day relentlessly,
Life forced into peace by death’s wings,
Earth revolving like clockwork eternally,

Startling colors into one-another melt
Fighting substance now perfectly content
But no touch to feel what shouldve been felt.

Tree’s breathing in silent atmosphere,
Animals decaying mercilessly
With no eyes to record what should be seen.

Sun glistening reflects this perfect harmonic scene,
There is no evidence of what occurred,
And there were no ears to hear what shouldve been heard.

Landmasses colliding form giant streams,
Creatures crawl into forests from the beach,
So much beautiful life that may as well never have been.

All because there were no eyes for us to see,
No ears for us to hear, no touch for us to feel.
Nothing to persuade us that this paradise existed,
Except for the memories that still remind us in our dreams.

How is it that on exactly the same days we write poems about the same sorta thing??? We both wrote poems about what Paradise should be like on the same day!!! Whoa... First the whole "Misery Is Beautiful" thing, now this?? Blatant Fate-age :D Lol :P
    Once again though, Lovely work.
