A friend in me...

by rachel   May 26, 2005

You continue on your destructive path
You have not healed and it won't last
The years will take their toll on you
As years go by you'll wake up too

Life goes by fast, we know not where
But some of us become aware
You look around and there I'll be
You will have a friend in me

Your love runs deep, one-day you'll cry
To hide your feelings is a lie
You mask your feelings in a glass of beer
One day you'll wake with no one near

Shattered dreams and lost loves
My son has sent a peaceful dove
I moved on, that's where I'll be
You will have a friend in me

I can't go back where I was before
I've now opened a brand new door
But I am healing and taking the time
Making sure where I spend my dime

A friend indeed is what I'll be
When you are down and lost You'll see
Someone to trust, forgive and let be
You will have a friend in me
