Regretfully Yours

Regretfully Yours

You see her in the hallway
All alone, with no one else
You wonder why she’s all alone
Why she’s always by herself
You never stop to talk
And ask her about her day
You just quickly look at her
And walk the other way
You see her a day later
And notice her arms are bruised
You wonder if she has been hurt
Or somehow been abused
But you don’t think that could happen
She probably just fell
But the next day she is gone
She must not have felt well
So you don’t think much about it
In fact, you practically forget
But when you hear she was killed
Your heart fills with regret
Cause you know that you ignored her
And didn’t ask if she was alright
But instead you walked right past her
Like she was never in your sight
