To Much To Handle

She never used to be this way

she took their burdens and she isn't the same

she wouldn't cry, she would put on a mask

she would fake a smile and run away fast

now she can't cry, even when she tries

she carries these burdens deep down inside

she can't handle it so she slits her wrist

then she swallows those pills so everything is a mist

stop doing this to her, don't you realize

that all of these burdens are ten times her size?

she puts on an act, she smiles to cover the lies

but i know, i can see it in her eyes

i fear to say but i just realized

i am looking into a mirror. what a surprise.
