Leaving

by Lover33   May 29, 2005

The cancer took you, leaving you in an urn, a permanent bed.
Not having a chance to say, "I love you" or "good bye."
"I can't believe you're gone," was all that could be said.
My family telling me it was my fault that I deserved to die.

Not having a chance to say, "I love you," or "goodbye".
You were charred and burned and turned to ash.
My family telling me it was my fault that I deserved to die.
Sitting in your old room I feel a cold, lifeless flash.

You were charred and burned and turned to ash.
I'm forgetting the feel of your gentle arms around me.
Sitting in your old room I feel a cold, lifeless flash.
Something told me you were coming home to stay, but it could never be.

I'm forgetting the feel of your gentle arms around me.
All the pictures have begun to slowly fade.
Something told me you were coming home to stay, but it could never be.
Not trying to stay strong, I bit my lip and cried that day.

All the pictures have begun to slowly fade.
"I can't believe you're gone," was all that could be said.
Not trying to stay strong, I bit my lip and cried that day.
The cancer took you, leaving you in an urn, a permanent bed.
