This poem to me, is phenomenal. I could not begin to describe the way I am suffering, though I try, and I feel that this poem has simply described it for me, near perfect. Thank you for this sad write. It's so nice to read the words, that we cannot write for ourselves. Great write!! Sadly no option for me to vote this into the contest....

Oh my goodness, so good! I love how you made depression a jail cell, it's so great! That's exactly how I feel about my love that passed away.. That's exactly how it happened.... Depression.. I hate it. Amazing piece though! I loved it 5/5

Probably the best interpretation of what depression can do to people around those who suffer. Great poem

Was good until not being able to see through the bars and the bars are FOR the depressed instead of the metaphor OF depression... kind of lame there. But liked it a lot up until the last three paragraphs.

Wow. This poem captured my heart from start to finish. It pulled me in and I was there all the way. I have suffered depression for years and it's everything i have felt and more. I have never read something so honest and pure since being on this site and I am so glad i have now.
It shows not that it affects the person depressed but also people that love them.
You wrote all the emotions well.

Absolutely loved this. The flawless continuation had the appearance of the poem being seemingly effortless, yet filled with emotion.
