Hazel Eyes

by Samantha lynn   May 30, 2005

Watching out the window
as clouds haze the vision
of twinkling stars across
the empty canvas of sky.
It doesn't matter though;
I remember where each
shining light lies
in its infinite existence.
I think, the memory merges
from those nights I dreamt,
and thought and analyzed,
every word, touch, glance, moment
you shared with me.
I kept them inside a little box
located in the secret crag behind my rib cage,
until I could watch the stars
and think of you.
You, who have stood by me,
holding my hand and caring where I stepped in life.
You; that listens to my fears,
doubts,
frustrations,
wiping away the tears,
and replacing them with smiles.
