Romanesque

by Zachariah Jones   Jun 1, 2005

I feel cold
Sleep at night is restless
Tossing and turning
My soul is burning
Enveloped in the fire
Lost in this crazed world
Lost in desire
Walking amongst the decks
Zombie like and Romanesque
Times I don’t feel my best

I feel tired
Rings form around these eyes
Clutching deeply to my disguise
Pulling thorns from my skin
Where is a good place to start?
Where can I re-begin?
Once was at the top
Now clearly stuck at the bottom
Pictures of the past animate
A life replayed

I feel angry
Seeking a new target
A new entity to destroy
A new tactic to employ
Distraction and seduction
A new role comes into play
Live through the night
To only die again today
Non-skid comes to life
Amongst the weak and repressed
Amongst the severely depressed
Choking the air flow
Constricting veins of life
Severing ties with a knife

I feel worn out
Walking this picturesque life
Staring outside the bars
Prisoner of this place
Away from my far off home
Last to be informed
Last to be unknown
Learning new tricks
New tactics
Unlearning old short-cuts
Studying a new revision
Slowly eyes closing, losing vision
