Would've...

by sam kings   Jun 4, 2005

I would've done anything for you my one true love,
i would have given up everything, if you only asked,
i would've sailed through the most torrential storms,
my fear successfully masked.

i would've laughed in the face of danger itself,
a million times, i would've lied,
i would've withstood any pain inflicted on me,
or if you'd called-for, I'd have cried.

i would've traveled through the pits of hell,
built your dreams with my bare hands,
i would've swum to the bottom of the Atlantic ocean,
take an expedition to unknown lands.

i would've built a mansion for us to live together,
would've caught a falling star so bright,
i would've held your hand relentlessly,
when you were afraid i would've squeezed you tight

i would've eternally been faithful and loving,
i would've sheltered you from the rain,
i would've made sure no-one ever hurt you,
protected you from the pain.

and then you left and my heart was broken,
i would've died just to hold you once more,
i would've sold my soul to hear your voice,
but now I'm not so sure.

now you announce you want me back,
i don't know if i can forgive,
i COULD'VE given you another chance,
but i'm sure without me you'll live!
