WINTERS EFFECT

by Armani Fernandes   Oct 12, 2003

A glove of winter has fallen from above
With no sign of spring with your love;
I have no feeling only a strange numbness
A numbness that has caused undesirable effects;
My eyes have dulled
No longer a spark behind them;
But the ashes of a long had blown out candle
Waiting silently on the day
It is to reawaken from hibernation
I have lost all spring in my step
My soul has submitted to routine
No longer adventurous but robotic;
A grounded angel with its wings clipped;
It is as if I am in a barren wasteland
Frozen with snow
No longer resisting the cold
But becoming it
Alive but dead;
In this unconscious frost;
Which is my life.
